FAQ

Grooms share a toast at a same-sex wedding at Chez in Chicago

What are your packages and what do they include? Can I make my own package?

Yes, the collections we offer are just a starting off point and we can customize a package based on your needs. Head over to the contact page and we can send you our brochure with our current price list.

Are there any extra fees or taxes added on to your packages?

No! Everything is included in our package price.

My event is not in Chicago. Do you travel? Is there an extra cost for this?

Yes, Allison loves destination weddings and any excuse to travel! Depending on the location and distance, there may be a small travel fee added. Generally, lodgings and airfare just need to be covered if an overnight stay is required.

Is Allison photographing my wedding or someone else?

Yes, you are hiring Allison! She shoots all of her weddings and often brings along her second photographer and/or lighting assistant.

What is an engagement session and how long does it last?

Engagement sessions are a 1-1 1/2 hour portrait session for couples to get a chance to work with Allison. You can do almost anything on these shoots, have some fun and make some great photos! Get some ideas and inspiration from some of our past sessions!

Do you edit all of the photographs?

Yes! Each photograph is hand-edited, one at a time. Allison makes selections from all of the photographs taken that day and delivers you only the best shots. She shoots all of the images in color and also creates black and white copies of photographs for you.

How many pictures will we receive?

The number of photographs given depends on many things – the number of guests, wedding location, hours of coverage and the type of event. The average for a nine hour day with a second photographer is 800 images, but those numbers may vary depending on the day itself.

How long does it take until we receive our photos?

Wedding photographs are delivered around four weeks after the event. Engagement sessions are usually sent to you 1 1/2 to 2 weeks after the shoot.

Do you take posed family photos?

Yes! We understand how important your family is on such a big day. We work with all of our clients to make sure we get each group shot and also send you a wedding questionnaire so all of your must haves are in one place!

What is the online proofing and ordering mentioned in your collections?

Once all of your wedding photographs are edited, we upload them to your own private gallery. We will send you a link which you can share with friends and family and you can order prints online as well.

We want to have an unplugged wedding with no cell phones or other cameras! Help!

Fantastic! We highly recommend this as it ensures that there won’t be guests with cameras or phones in your photographs. It also allows us to get great shots of your guests listening and participating in the ceremony. Here are some sample phrases for you!

For your officiant: We want you to be able to really enjoy our wedding day, feeling truly present and in the moment with us. We’ve hired a great wedding photographer who will be capturing the way the wedding looks — and we’re inviting each of you to sit back, relax, and just enjoy how the wedding feels. We’re respectfully asking that everyone consider leaving all cameras and cell phones off. Of course we will happy to share our wedding photos with you afterward!

For your program: We invite you to be truly present at this special time. Please, turn off your cell phones and put down your cameras. The photographer will capture how this moment looks — we encourage you all to capture how it feels. We will happy to share our wedding photos with you afterward!

It looks like it’s going to rain on my wedding day! Do you have a backup plan?

Yes, before the wedding we will coordinate with you, including optional plans for indoor locations. Check out our Pinterest page and get some ideas if it looks like you’ll be having a rainy wedding day.

We want to hire you! What’s next?

Great! Contact us so we can make sure we’re available on your event date. Allison likes to have a phone or in-person meeting with all of her clients so they can get to know each other better. After that, a deposit and electronic contract secures your date and go towards your final package price.

Where can I see more of your work?

Checking out our blog is a great place to start! We’re also always updating our social media pages so connect with us on InstagramFacebook, GoogleTwitter or Pinterest.
