I’m keeping warm in my studio today by blogging some of my favorite weddings of the summer! Anna and Ken’s Promontory Point wedding was at the top of my list as it was one of the most emotional ceremonies I have seen in a long time. You may have come across one of their photos from an earlier blog post I wrote when I found out that an image from their ceremony won an award from Junebug Weddings.
I loved the light during their wedding day and we had plenty of time to walk around the point and make portraits. I highly recommend taking a little time after your ceremony, even if it’s just for a few minutes, to get some great shots right after your ceremony!
When Kimberly and Bensen pitched the idea of a holi powder shoot, I was thrilled. I’d never done a shoot like this and, save for pictures of the Color Run, hadn’t really seen it done. The colored powder got everywhere and the two of them had a blast running around the beach and eventually jumping into the lake! So much fun!
Here are some favorites from the second half of our shoot.
When Lauren emailed me about making pictures for her save the date cards, I was really excited to come up with an idea that would be fun and playful and fit her personality. We decided we’d shoot at North Avenue Beach and both had the idea of using some colorful balloons to add to the photos. I decided I’d add the words ‘Save the Date’ to a balloon and we walked around the beach and made pictures before releasing them! So much fun! Congrats to you both!
I had my first engagement session on a boat recently with Kristina and Jesse. After a few cancellations due to the weather, we finally lucked out with a beautiful, sunny Sunday. We started at Montrose Harbor and made our way around the lake, even stopping at a gas station on the water! I’m really looking forward to working with them again for their wedding in April.
