Sara & Coleman: Wedding Preview

I was so excited earlier this year when Coleman asked me to photograph his wedding. We first met at an art opening at his Logan Square bar Cole’s and have gotten to know each other ever since.

Their ceremony was at St. John the Baptist in Northlake and was my first time at a Greek Melkite church. It was full of joy, laughter and dancing and it was wonderful to be a part of. The reception followed at the Stan Mansion, one of my favorite Chicago venues, and featured some incredible belly dancing by Khazna Khalil.

Congrats to Sara and Coleman, who spent the entire day joking around and smiling, which was extremely contagious and made for a fun day!

Kristina & Jesse: Engagement Session

I had my first engagement session on a boat recently with Kristina and Jesse. After a few cancellations due to the weather, we finally lucked out with a beautiful, sunny Sunday. We started at Montrose Harbor and made our way around the lake, even stopping at a gas station on the water! I’m really looking forward to working with them again for their wedding in April.

Meagan & Matt at Mrs. Murphy and Sons Irish Bistro

I had the pleasure of photographing Meagan and Matt a few weekends ago. They were both so sweet and full of laughter and energy. We started at the Rockwell Brown Line stop and then made our way to Montrose Beach. After our portrait session, the two decided it was time for a snack and enjoyed some hot dogs along the lake! The ceremony and reception were at Mrs. Murphy and Sons Irish Bistro, a beautiful space originally built in the 1920′s that is full of charm. We ended the night with some fun photo booth style pictures in an old phone booth. Congratulations Meagan and Matt!

Kristin & Colin: Backyard Photo Shoot

My friends Kristin and Colin got married last November but didn’t get a chance to take many portraits on their wedding day. As a gift to them, we recently did a portrait session in their Chicago backyard! We lucked out with some beautiful fall weather and had a great time shooting.

Karisa & Scott: Wedding Preview

I had a blast last Saturday photographing Karisa and Scott’s backyard wedding in Cary, IL. The weather was perfect and the setting was hard to beat: a beautiful yard filled with rows and rows of trees. They also made almost all of the decorations right down to the bouquets which gave the wedding such a personal feel. They both filled the day with so much laughter and fun and it was such an honor to spend the day with them. Special thanks to Chris Murphy for being such a great photo assistant!

Mignonette Bridal Shoot

I was recently asked by Mignonette Bridal owner Kpoene’ Kofi-Bruce to shoot some promotional images of her new dresses and for the upcoming launch of her Andersonville store late this year. We decided on Palmer’s Square for our location, a beautiful park in Chicago’s Logan Square neighborhood. We had a stellar staff and amazing models to work with! On top of that, some wonderful local talent: Flowers by Fleur, hats by Sarah Azzouzi, styling by Shanti Gomez, silver jewelry by Moira K. Lime, headbands by My Lavaliere, Swarovski jewelry by Due Sorelle, makeup by Angie Nguyen and rock star photo assisting by Elizabeth Metzger Sampson. Below are some of my favorites from the shoot!
